Update Regarding Changes to the Call Monitoring & Home Visiting Services Following Nottinghamshire County Council Funding Cuts (16-Jan-12)

Update Regarding Changes to the Call Monitoring & Home Visiting Services Following Nottinghamshire County Council Funding Cuts

In November 2011, we reported that Nottinghamshire County Council has made funding cuts across a number of service providers within NottinghamshireAshfield Homes are one of the service providers affected by these cuts, which means that we are unable to provide existing services to the same number of people, with less funding.

For those service users who currently receive the subsidised (funded by Supporting People) Call Monitoring and Home Visiting service, there will be changes over the next few months.  Unfortunately, this will mean some people who have been funded will no longer be eligible for the subsidised service.

Service users that lose their grant funding status, will be given the option to retain the service, however, they will have to pay for this.  As at January 2012, the charges for the service are as follows:-

• Call Monitoring Service - £3.41 per week
• Home Visiting Service -  £3.65 per week

Payments for the service are taken by Direct Debit only, on a monthly basis.

Some disabled persons may be eligible for VAT exemption, meaning that they could get their Call Monitoring service for only £2.84 per week.  VAT exemption cannot be applied to the Home Visiting service however.

Over the past few weeks, our Care Co-ordinators have been visiting service users to complete a survey consisting of questions about their current circumstances.  The information gathered will be used to determine whether service users will remain eligible for the subsidised (funded) service.

By the end of February 2012, service users will be informed in writing as to whether or not they will continue to receive Supporting People funding for the next year.
