Major Works Programme 

Refurbishment work involves the large scale replacement of whole ‘building elements’ to your home. Examples include windows, roof covering, central heating, electrical re-wiring, kitchens, bathrooms, external doors and insulated rendering. Large scale programmes of work are carried out year on year, the aim being to keep all homes up to the Goverment’s Decent Homes Standard. We also carry out other improvement works as the need arises.                       

Ongoing surveys and historical information allow us to plan and prioritise which homes are to be included in forthcoming programmes of work.                                       

Over time therefore, all homes will benefit from the replacement of all building elements based on their lifecycle and condition. This means that if we haven’t visited you already, then we will be doing so in the future. Even if we have already visited you, we will be back again to replace other elements as and when they are required.

When you are included on one of our programmes of work, you will be invited to attend an Open Day before the work is due to start.                               

Here you can discuss any issues or concerns you may have regarding the pending works, with our Technical Officers and our Construction Partner.

For more minor works, or works of a simple nature, we may not hold an Open Day, however we will keep you fully informed. 

You will also receive leaflets giving you advice about the work. We will also ask you to let us know if you have any special needs or special circumstances that you feel we ought to know which will help us carry out the works in your home with minimum fuss and inconvenience.
