The main aim of Ashfield Homes’  Partnership and Procurement Section is to ensure that all domestic dwellings owned by Ashfield District Council meet the  Government’s Decent Homes Standard, with the exception of those properties where tenants do not wish to have the works carried out. This was successfully achieved in October 2005.

Since then, and as part of our second major works contract, our aim is to maintain your home to this standard, by carrying out necessary replacement works as they becomes due. Where your home is due to receive such works, you can expect Ashfield Homes and our Construction Partner, Connaught Partnerships Limited to:   

•  Invite you to an Open Day near your home;
• Arrange for you to be visited by a Tenant Liaison Officer;
• Give you notice, 21 days, 7 days, and a visit by a Tenant Liaison Officer one day before starting work on your home;
• Give you a choice in the style and colour of kitchens, bathrooms etc.;
• Provide you with daytime and out of hours freephone telephone numbers of our Construction Partner, Connaught Partnerships Ltd, should you wish to contact them relating to the works;  
• Provide proof of identity before entering your home;
• Wear high visibility waistcoats or jackets, displaying the logos of Ashfield Homes, Ashfield District Council and Connaught Partnerships Ltd;
• Help you to move heavy furniture if you are unable to do so;
• Help you to lift carpets if you are unable to do so;
• Ensure you are kept warm and comfortable;
• Ensure that the work is carried out to a high standard;
• Use good quality materials;
• Carry out the work whilst you remain in occupation;
• Help tenants and residents with special needs;
• Ensure you are not left overnight without electricity and essential facilities;
• Leave your home clean and tidy at the end of each working day; 
• Pay an allowance towards the cost of redecoration (where disturbance has occured); 
• Carry out a survey to monitor the quality of service offered to you during the works.
