
Calculating your Housing Benefit
Housing Benefit is help for anyone on a low income who has to pay rent for their home. Almost anyone who pays rent can make a claim for Housing Benefit. The amount of Housing Benefit you will receive will depend on the size of your household, how much your rent is, and how much income and savings you have.
You can use the online benefits calculator for an estimate of how much benefit you may be entitled to receive towards your rent.

Returning your form
Completed forms should be returned to Ashfield District Council who will assess the infromation you have provided on your application form and decide how much, if any, benefit to award you. If the Council ask you for additional information to support your claim, such as proof of your income or savings, it is important that you respond within the timescales required, otherwise your claim for Housing Benefit may be cancelled.
