Refurbishment work involves the large scale replacement of whole ‘building elements’ to your home. Examples include windows, roof coverings, central heating, electrical re-wiring, kitchens, bathrooms, external doors and insulated rendering. Large scale programmes of work are carried out year on year, the aim being to maintain all homes to the Goverment’s Decent Homes Standard. We also carry out other improvement works as the need arises.
Ongoing surveys and historical information allow us to plan and prioritise which homes are to be included in forthcoming programmes of work.
Over time therefore, all homes will benefit from the replacement of all building elements based on their lifecycle and condition. This means that if we haven’t visited you already, then we will be doing so in the future. Even if we have already visited you, we will be back again to replace other elements as and when they are required.
Ashfield District Council has recently appointed Frank Haslam Milan as its new Construction Partner to carry out improvement works for the period 2010 to 2015. Pilot schemes recently commenced across the district in January 2010 which included the replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, central heating systems, roof coverings and windows.
