When we can see you
If our Housing Repair Technicians need to get access into your home to complete repair work, you will be offered a morning or afternoon appointment to suit your convenience. Unfortunately, we cannot give you a specific time when we will be visiting your home. We will send you an acknowledgement for each repair reported, so that you know what priority the repair has been given and when we intend to do the repair if an appointment is required.
What we can visit for
The Housing Repairs Technical Services Department will be able to arrange an appointment to attend your home, for the following reasons:
- Inspections for internal or external repairs. However, we can generally inspect external repairs without you being present. Appointments can also be arranged to allow a joint inspection of areas you may share with other residents, for example, community rooms and stairs. One of our Housing Technical Services Officers will be made available wherever possible at your convenience.
- Repairs to internal elements of your home. However, appointments can also be arranged for external works, very often customers may have to provide us with access to allow the successful completion of a repair.
- A visit to your home conducted by our Customer Service Officer, who will address any compliments, comments or complaints you may have regarding the Housing Technical Services Section.
- A visit undertaken to your home by our Quality Control Officer, who will address any concerns you may have regarding the quality of a repair that has been completed within your home.
- All annual Property Health and Safety Checks/Services to your home will be undertaken by an appointment at your total convenience.
Your repairs can be carried out by appointment between 8.00am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. In certain circumstances we may be able to offer you an appointment outside of these hours (between 8.00am and 12.30pm on Saturday Mornings), you can discuss this with one our Repairs Call Handling Centre Staff when reporting your repairs.
Please keep your appointment
Once an appointment has been made, it is important that you are available when one of our Technical Officers calls. If you are not in, a visiting card will be left indicating that we were unable to complete the necessary repairs. You should respond quickly and contact the number left on the visiting card to avoid the repair being cancelled.
If you still require the repair to be completed, you should contact the Repairs Call Handling Centre on 0800 479 4999 (Freephone) to arrange another appointment.
What if I cannot be in as arranged?
If the appointment made by the Repairs Call Handling Centre is not convenient, you may change it by contacting the Repairs Call Handling Centre on 0800 479 4999 (Freephone), or by writing to the Housing Technical Services Section. Alternatively, you may contact us by e-mail at: ahlmail@ashfieldhomes.co.uk
