What is an assessment?

TSOteamjune2010

Your Tenancy Support Officer will carry out an assessment of your current situation in order to determine how to set up your Support Plan. This assessment will highlight specific areas the Tenancy Support Officer can focus on, ensuring you receive the most efficient and effective service.

Areas covered in the assessment may include:

  • First time tenant.
  • Grants/Loans/benefits.
  • Furniture referrals.
  • Signposts to other relevant agencies.
  • Experiencing Anti-Social Behaviour.
  • Older persons needs.
  • Families with a young child.
  • Learning difficulties.
  • Experiencing Domestic Violence
  • Mental Health Needs

Ashfield Homes have set up protocols with other Support Providers. This has helped when a Tenancy Support assessment highlights an area of support that is specific to an individuals need. The protocol forms a process which  enables Ashfield Homes to work closely with other Support Providers, setting out how each organisation can make or receive referrals.

The benefits for Tenancy Support Service users are:-

  • staff are better trained to give guidance
  • information is readily available

A Protocol sets out how information can be shared in a confidential manner with the permission of a Tenancy Support Service user.

Ashfield Homes have protocols and working relationships with a number of key agencies and organisations.
