Housing Application Form

In January 2012 Ashfield District Council, in partnership with Mansfield District Council and local Housing Associations, will change the way they let their properties. A new scheme, called Ashfield and Mansfield Homefinder, will replace the existing Lettings Scheme.

In readiness for the new scheme restrictions are being placed on who is eligible to join the Housing Register. As from 17th October only applicants who meet one of the following criteria will be permitted to join the Housing Register.

  1. Applicants who have been accepted as homeless by Ashfield District Council and the Council have accepted a duty to rehouse them.
  2. Applicants who are severely overcrowded in the current accommodation. By this we mean that they have at least 2 bedrooms fewer than they need.
  3. Applicants who are experiencing violent harassment. This includes discriminatory harassment and domestic violence.
  4. Other applicants in very urgent housing need. This will be determined on a case by case basis.

If you do not meet one of the above criteria you can submit a Housing Application Form and it will be held and registered with Homefinder. This means that you will not be considered eligible for an offer of accommodation until Homefinder is introduced in January 2012.

If you disagree with the decision to hold your Housing Application until Homefinder is introduced please contact me on Tel 01623 608893.

You will need to complete a Housing Application Form. The form can be completed at  www.amhomefinder.co.uk or you can collect a copy from your local Property Shop.
