Brand New Hedge Cutting Service

Good news - Ashfield Homes now operates a goodwill hedge cutting service. We recognise that some people are unable to maintain their gardens in a tidy and safe condition - this new service will help our tenants who are unable to manage gardening work themselves, and will help to enhance the appearance of the estates of Ashfield.

The new service will be provided on a first come, first served basis, except priority will be given to trees, hedges, shrubs or brambles adjacent to a highway or public footpath, as this may cause a nuisance or health and safety risk to the tenant and to members of the public.

The service will only be provided once per property per year.

To be eligible for this brand new service, you must meet all of the following criteria:

  • You must be a Secure tenant of Ashfield District Council;
  • You must have a clear rent account and have no action taken against you for anti-social behaviour or any other breaches of tenancy;
  • You must be in receipt of one of the following: Tenancy Support Service, Care Co-ordinator Service, Disability Living Allowance.

If you feel that you need support in maintaining your hedges/shrubs or are not sure whether you are eligible to receive this service, please contact your Housing Management Advisor, Tenancy Support Officer or Care Co-ordinator and ask for further details.
