FAQ
What should I do if I am suffering from racial harassment?

Our Racial Harassment Service Standard defines a racist incident as any incident that is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person.

Harassment not only includes physical attacks on persons and damage to property, but also verbal abuse and other behaviour which deprives people of the peaceful enjoyment of their home on the grounds of racial origin.

If you are suffering form racial harassment, you should report the matter immediately to Nottinghamshire Police.  You should also report the matter to your Housing Management Advisor that will begin investigations within one working day.  Ashfield Homes will not tolerate such extreme forms of anti-social behaviour, and we will consider taking legal action against the perpetrators immediately.

We can also arrange for additional security devices to be installed at your property such as panic alarms linked directly to your local police station.

The matter will be reported to the Nottinghamshire Common Monitoring Project that is responsible for co-ordinating and improving the response to racist incidents throughout Nottinghamshire.
