John Cox

John Cox – Chair of the Board of Ashfield Homes

 

Mr. John Cox lives in the Underwood area of Ashfield. He is a business consultant and has experience of working in both housing and construction sectors.


As Chair, he is responsible for leading the Board, and for ensuring that it successfully discharges its overall responsibility for the organisation as a whole. It is the Chair’s role to: provide leadership to the Board; enable all Board Members to make a full contribution to the Board’s affairs and ensure that the Board acts as a team; ensure that key and appropriate issues are discussed by the Board in a timely manner; and ensure the Board has adequate support and is provided efficiently with all necessary data on which to base informed decisions.

Pat Simms

Pat Simms - Vice Chair of the Board of Ashfield Homes

 

Mrs. Pat Simms is the Vice Chair of the Board of Ashfield Homes Ltd, and has been a tenant representative on the Coxmoor Estate for the last 13 years.  Pat, who has lived in Kirkby for most of her life, is married with four children and eight grandchildren.  Pat has enjoyed being involved with the setting up of Ashfield Homes, and is happy to be involved with the improvements to the Council housing in Ashfield.

Eunice Bradley

Mrs. Eunice Bradley has lived on the Holly Hill Estate for over 30 years. Eunice worked with the Holly Hill Estate Tenants Association since it first started in July 1989, firstly as Correspondence Secretary and then, until recently, as Secretary. Eunice originally joined to improve communication between tenants and the Council, and is grateful for the opportunity to now represent tenants on the Board of Ashfield Homes.

I am 23 and have lived in Ashfield all my life. I am a Councillor for the Hucknall West Ward on Ashfield District Council. My priorities are working for the people of Ashfield to support them where I can. I have a keen interest in the area of Mental Health and have done volunteer work for MIND. In my spare time, I like to read, and visit the cinema and theatre.

 

 

Myrrha Hibbert

Myrrha Hibbert

 

Myrrha has lived in Hucknall for some 19 years, the last 5 or 6 as a Tenant of Ashfield District Council. Along with the late Mr. Terry Stonely, Myrrha helped to create the Hucknall Central Tenants. In the past, she had held positions of responsibility within two Nottingham based companies.  Due to a works accident, Myrrha is now unable to work and so is able to put her time to the matters of the Board.  Myrrha’s own philosophy lends itself to equal opportunities and the Human Rights Bill.

Mark Kimberley Mark Kimberley – Chair of Audit and Remuneration
  
Mr Mark Kimberley has lived in Kirkby for over 10 years and is married with two daughters.  Mark is a Chartered Accountant specialising in Local Government and is currently Head of Finance at Gedling Borough Council where he advises their Housing Department.  Mark has played for Mansfield Hockey team for over 20 years, which takes up the rest of his spare time.

Divorced. Interested in birds and horses. Been a District Councillor since May 1999. Governor at Orchard Primary School and heavily involved with friends of Kingsway Park and Portland Park, amongst many other local groups.

 

 

Cllr Sears-Piccavey

I have lived in Underwood for the past 35 years, and been actively involved in my local community over many years. I am Treasurer for three local organisations, Chairman of three organisations, and a member of one further group. I am also a member of Selston Parish Council. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening and hiking.

 

Murray Timmons

 

Mr Timmons has a wide working experience within both the Coal Industry and Local Government.  He was Union representative for his specialisation whilst with the mining industry, and was involved in the safety aspects of the industry, the benefits of which he is able to bring to the Board of Ashfield Homes Ltd.

I have lived in Sutton for 8 years. I have a partner, two sons and three grandsons. As a tenant of Ashfield Homes, I was Chair of my Tenants and Residents Association for 6 years. I am also a School Governor

I was born and educated at Stanton Hill and worked in the hosiery trade until I started my own retail outsize clothing business in Sutton in 1980, retiring in 2000. I am married with two daughters and one grandchild and have lived in Sutton-in-Ashfield all my life, where I have been a Primary School Governor for over twenty years.  I have recently served as a councillor on Ashfield District Council for four years and take a keen interest in local politics.

I am 46 years old, I have 2 daughters Sian 12 and Abigail 15 In my spare time I play Squash, Badminton, like getting lost in the wild peak and I also like to travel.

I currently work as a Distribution Centre Manager for a medical supplies company called Homecraft based in Huthwaite, I enjoy my work, we ship our orders all over the globe, our biggest customers are Japan, Australia and Ireland, in the past I have worked in projects and purchasing management in the UK and South America.  When I saw the position of the Independent Board Member advertised I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to get involved in my local area and hopefully use my skills and knowledge on the board, it is also a chance for me to learn more about another field and develop my skills further
