Working for Ashfield Homes

Ashfield Homes employees at the 2010 conference

Ashfield Homes is a leading Arms Length Management Organisation based in the North of Nottinghamshire responsible for the repairs, maintenance and management of Ashfield District Council housing stock. Awarded Investors in People to accompany the top 3 star rating awarded by the Government Housing Inspectors, Ashfield Homes is a Company at the forefront of its field and has

created an environment where the customer comes first.

As a result of the Audit Commission awarding Ashfield Homes of 3 stars, the Company received some 55 million pounds to invest in the Council housing stock to bring the condition up to the Decent Homes Standard. As a consequence Ashfield Homes was the first to achieve the Decent Homes Standard.

Ashfield Homes can offer you excellent career opportunities, a commitment to training and development, and a supported and proven track record of career progression.

We have approximately 200 employees working in a broad range of occupations. Most of these employees work from the Company's newly built head office in Sutton-in-Ashfield; other locations include Ashfield Homes for Rent Property Shops in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, and Hucknall, and the Company Depot also located in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

Terms and Conditions

Ashfield Homes offers excellent terms and conditions of employment, including an excellent holiday entitlement, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, and an unwavering support of training and development for all within a flexible working environment.

The Company has implemented a Child Care Voucher Scheme to assist male and female employees with their childcare costs, as well as a Cycle to Work Scheme which provides employees with the chance to purchase a bicycle at a substantially discounted price providing they use the bicycle to cycle to work.

Induction

Starting a new job in a new Company is always daunting for new employees and that is why managers at Ashfield Homes take each of their new employees through a comprehensive induction programme, ensuring a good start to their Ashfield Homes career.

To support this process the Senior Management Team run an induction training session for all new employees. This provides an opportunity for people to meet the senior managers including the Chief Executive, as well as learn more about the Company's culture and services.

Employee Conference

Every year the Company holds an Employee Conference for all employees to attend. It is run over two days to allow half our employees to attend on the first day and the other half to attend on the second day. It is an opportunity for our employees to get together, put faces to names or visa versa and network across the departments. It is also provides the Company with the ideal forum to communicate effectively with all our employees on the issues of the day, as well as promote team working and healthy living.

 Training and Development

Ashfield Homes as a Company, supports employees to grow both in their work role and personally and endeavours to provide opportunities for this growth.

The Company looks to empower employees to take some ownership of their own development and works within recognised good practice standards such as Investors in People and ACAS.
